High-Rise Design

1.563 Structural Design Project (Spring 2019)

The final product of this class is to design a High-Rise structure in Hudson Yard, NY. The site’s particular challenge was accommodating the current High Line which runs through the site. We designed a structure that cantilevers over the High Line which avoided the railroad tracks located nearby and maintains the visibility of the beautiful Hudson River. The first four floors are retail while the first third of the tower is office space while the other portion is residential.

My major contributions were the architectural plans, facade design and fireproofing considerations.
